The Kenneth Stanton Walk for Cancer
was founded in 2005. Dr. Stanton was a very successful dentist, practicing for nearly 20 years, 13 years in Manchester NH, before selling his practice in 1998. After retiring from dentistry Dr. Stanton stayed active in the community, volunteering for Bicentennial Elementary school as a tutor, serving on the board of directors for the Greater Nashua Dental Connection, an organization which provides free dental care to low-income children. He was also an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish, as well as a member of the Nashua Country Club. Stanton loved to travel taking many trips with his family.
Ken was also a semi-professional trumpet player, having
been involved with several productions including, the
Ringling Brother's Circus, as well as the James Bond
film, "Octopussy." Even towards the end Ken often found
time to share a laugh with his family and especially
with his in-laws, Dr. Emile Vermette and Rose Marie Vermette.
Stanton fought two independent forms of cancer for nearly 17 years, and his legacy lives on through the Kenneth Stanton Fund, which raises money for vitally needed cancer research at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
